It's the 1280x720 resolution that shrank, and there aren't any video card updates.
I use 1280x720 resolution, though my monitor can handle 1920x1080 (I prefer 1280x720 because it's bigger and easier on my eyes). I have somewhat of a related problem after I upgraded to Windows 10, my screen has shrunk with a black border all around the edges of the display.
